Stephen Scott

Stephen is a Senior Commercial Litigation Solicitor in RLK Solicitors' Dispute Resolution and Litigation team. He specialises in complex and high-value commercial disputes, including civil fraud, freezing injunctions, shareholder and contractual disputes, contentious insolvency, arbitration, and the enforcement of judgments across multiple jurisdictions.

He specialises in complex and high-value commercial disputes, including civil fraud, freezing injunctions, shareholder and contractual disputes, contentious insolvency, arbitration, and the enforcement of judgments across multiple jurisdictions. 

Stephen acts for businesses, directors, insolvency practitioners, family offices and high-net-worth individuals, often in matters that are urgent, commercially sensitive or involve international elements. Having held senior positions in private practice and worked in-house as General Counsel for an international venture business, Scott understands first-hand the pressures litigation can place on decision-making, cash flow and day-to-day operations. This experience shapes his practical, commercially focused approach, looking beyond the immediate legal issues to understand what matters to the client and their business. 

Qualified as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 2019, Stephen has practised in the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Bermuda. He has been involved in significant High Court litigation, urgent injunction applications, and cross-border disputes throughout his career. This breadth of experience means he is well placed to navigate complex litigation strategically, helping clients protect their position while identifying opportunities to achieve efficient and cost-effective outcomes. 

Stephen is known for his clear, direct approach and his ability to develop persuasive legal strategies tailored to his clients’ objectives. Whether pursuing a claim, defending proceedings or seeking urgent relief, he focuses on achieving results that are both legally robust and commercially sensible. 

Stephen is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Outside of work, Stephen is an avid boxer and Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner. The discipline, resilience, and strategic thinking required in both sports mirror the approach he brings to his legal practice and commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for his clients.
